Rough times ahead for 'princess' Strang

In her own words, Amanda Strang will be transformed from a 'princess' into a 'tribal woman'. As the marquee model of Kate Spade's Luxury Week's Thursday afternoon tea show, the doe-eyed beauty was her usual petite elegant self. But come next month, she may have to endure more archaic conditions for the TVB Jade programme The Evolution of the Human, which takes its hosts to remote and desolate places. The pretext is to show how early man lived, but it's really just a chance for viewers to enjoy watching celebrities take punishment from nature.

'I will be going on a trip to the tribal area of Malaysia,' Strang explained. 'I was told there's one village without hot water and another without electricity at night. Food wise, it's easy. If it's not tasty I'll just treat it as a diet, but I need to shower once a day.'

Well, maybe she should just think of it as the anti-luxury week.
