Who started it? Ca$hmere is a collaborative venture between designer John Scher and visionary Patrick Lo. Before launching Ca$hmere, Scher had designed his own lines for women and men for more than 10 years. Originally from Hong Kong, Lo worked in finance before moving to New York to study merchandising and design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. They founded the label in 2005, designing knitwear for women and men. Sportswear and handbags were added last year. Their designs have been spotted on celebrities such as Gwen Stefani and have featured in magazines, including Nylon and Harper's Bazaar.
Why we love it: the brand features designs that combine classic and feminine silhouettes with a youthful edge. High-quality fabrics such as tweed, wool and angora are softened by frayed edges, ribbons and embroidery to give a girly touch. Their autumn/winter collection features monochrome boxy tweed jackets and jumpers reminiscent of Chanel.
What we'd pick: the cashmere long-sleeved dress (above, far left; HK$1,900) and the grey round-necked jacket (above left; HK$2,900).
Where can you get it? Ca$hmere is available at Lane Crawford stores, including the one in IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2118 3388.
