HK youngsters outplay Malaysia

Second seeds Hong Kong ran in an impressive 11 tries to beat Malaysia 69-9 on the opening day of the Olympus Capital Asian Rugby Junior Championship at Hong Kong Football Club yesterday. Flyhalf Niall Rowark accounted for 15 points with a try, two penalties and two conversions. Taiwan scraped past Thailand 28-23, while Sri Lanka ran rampant over Singapore 65-0. Hong Kong will now play Sri Lanka on Wednesday for a place in next Saturday's final. Top seeds South Korea, who had a bye to the semi-finals, take on Taiwan.
