Furore brewing over Xinjiang beatings

Lawmakers in Hong Kong have demanded an investigation into the beating of three Hong Kong journalists on the mainland. The journalists were covering the unrest in Xinjiang. Last Friday, TVB senior reporter Lam Tsz-ho, his cameraman Lau Wing-chuen and NOW TV cameraman Lam Chun-wai were tied up, handcuffed and beaten by police.

Hou Hanmin, director of the Xinjiang Information Office, accused the journalists of inciting the protesters.
