Hu busy at UN ahead of G20
President Hu Jintao will take part in a series of United Nations summit meetings in New York before heading to Pittsburgh for the Group of 20 financial summit next week, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said yesterday. Urumqi students back at school
All primary and secondary schools in Urumqi , Xinjiang , resumed classes yesterday after a 10-day suspension attributed to controlling social unrest and curbing the spread of swine flu, Xinhua reported. Shanghai residency for 29
Twenty-nine people have received hukou, or permanent residency, in Shanghai since new rules were adopted six months ago, 365.com reported yesterday. Of the 29, 27 have degrees, with 26 of them qualified middle- or high-level technicians. According to the new rules, hukou applicants must meet several requirements, including holding Shanghai residency certificates and having been in the city's social security system for at least seven years.
