Sony PSP (Game console)

The Sony PSP has had a makeover. It's now smaller and lighter than ever, with a sophisticated design featuring a sliding display panel. It has been christened the PSPgo.

After the incredibly successful world launch of the PS3 Slim, Sony Entertainment Hong Kong announced that local gamers would again be the first in the world to buy the new PSPgo at a special midnight launch at Sport X in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, on October 1 for HK$1,899. There will be 300 units up for grabs, and the 300 lucky buyers will also get a gift box including a HK$200 PlayStation Network pre-paid card, PS Limited Edition T-shirt and PSPgo Accessory Pack.

To make the PSPgo smaller, the universal media drive has been replaced with 16GB of flash memory that stores a variety of digital entertainment that can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store using the built-in wireless LAN or through the PS3 console.

Content can also be downloaded and managed via a PC using Media Go, a new software application that will allow gamers to easily manage the PSP's content on their home computer. This easy-to-use application comes on a CD-ROM bundled with the PSPgo.

Sony's 'SensMe channels' music feature is also now available for download onto PSP. This application allows users to categorise music according to mood onto playlists such as 'Relax', 'Dance' or 'Upbeat'.

If you hope to get into the midnight launch, go to Harbour City early on Wednesday!
