Officers assaulted after finding missing boy

Three police officers were injured while investigating a noise complaint in Sheung Shui. The officers came across three men, aged 18, 22 and 28, and a 16-year-old boy outside Ching Yun House, Ching Ho Estate, at about 11.50pm on Sunday. During their inquiries, they discovered that the boy had been reported missing by his father on Wednesday. When they moved to take the boy to a police station, the 28-year-old man tried to stop them, assaulted one of the officers and resisted arrest. The men were all arrested. The officers were treated at North District Hospital.

Couple treated after home blaze

A couple were slightly injured when fire broke out in their Tai Po flat. Police and firefighters were called to the first-floor flat of the two-storey house in Tai Wo Service Road West at about 2.50am. Firemen doused the flames. Police found nothing suspicious. The man, 57, complained of breathing problems, and his wife, 50, suffered minor burns to her legs. They were treated at North District Hospital.

Bus hits woman in wheelchair

An 82-year-old woman in a wheelchair was injured when hit by a double-decker bus in On Pong Road, Tai Po, at 12.30pm. She was treated for minor injuries at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital. The driver passed a breath test.

Two hurt in gang attack

Anti-triad police are investigating a case in which two men suffered head injuries when attacked by about 10 men with weapons in Centenary Garden in Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui, at about 6.45am. The victims were treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
