Councillors reject Star Ferry fare rise

Kowloon City district councillors at a meeting yesterday opposed a second round of fare increases for the Star Ferry due to be introduced by January 1. Although the rise is only between 20 cents and 50 cents per trip, they said it would be a burden amid the bad economy. The government approved the increase in January.
