Leaders to speak at conference

Ana Wang

The Conference on International Exchange of Professionals was launched in 2001 to strengthen links between Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and other countries.

The conference, organised by the China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, includes four exhibitions, a Shenzhen forum and a job fair for overseas professionals. It caters to different professionals, institutes and industries, including two areas for foreign organisations. The first is for professionals in economy and technology, and the second in culture and education.

Another area is for foreign training institutes that can help develop mainland professionals.

Two exhibitions will be for intellectual achievements and domestic projects, and human resources agencies and head-hunting companies from the mainland and overseas.

A section on intellectual achievements has been set up to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

At the Shenzhen forum, Nobel laureates in economics, renowned professionals, world-famous scientists, chief executive officers from the world's top 500 multinational companies, experienced human resources professionals and other leaders will speak.

Speakers include Li Zhaoxing, China's former foreign minister, Yasuo Fukuda, Japan's former prime minister, and Elaine Lan Chao, former United States secretary for labour.

Other than the exhibitions and forums, the conference includes a job fair for mid- to senior-level professionals.

The conference will be held on November 7 and 8 at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre.
