Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah underwent heart surgery at Queen Mary Hospital last night shortly after returning from the G20 summit in the United States, a government spokesman said. The spokesman said Tsang was suffering from acute heart pains and underwent angioplasty. The operation had been successful and he was remaining in hospital for observation. This may last a few days, his press secretary, Patrick Wong Wing-kit, said after visiting the hospital early today, where Tsang was awake.
