It's a wedding party where true love does cross all boundaries

Love was definitely in the air on Saturday at the Eaton Hotel in Yau Ma Tei as 21 couples from diverse backgrounds gathered to renew their vows and share their stories.

The venue is already a popular option for local lovebirds on their big day, but it entered its own union with the YMCA last weekend to entertain the Boundless Love Wedding Party. The event was designed to promote racial harmony and equality, with the couplings all featuring partners of mixed age, culture or ethnic backgrounds.

Chauffeured there in classic cars, the couples then participated in fun and games. However, the most touching moments were when each pair recalled the moment they met, and the challenges they faced gaining acceptance from family and friends.

Among the countries represented by individual partners were Korea, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Italy, Pakistan, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Russia.

Two couples chosen for the most heartfelt stories from the event website's online poll won an overnight stay in the hotel's wedding suite.

It seems true love does cross all boundaries, especially when those three magic words are involved: on the house.
