ON Tuesday at Ocean Park, after queueing for over an hour to enter one of the rides, my young family and visiting mother-in-law were appalled and disgusted when four German women (we assume to be tourists) pushed into the (very) long queue directly behindus, hoping that the Hong Kongers following us would assume they were our ''friends''.
When we challenged them, they indicated that they were short of time and hence their action was justified. They expressed no shame or embarrassment and stood their ground. The Hong Kong family behind us, on hearing our exchanges, also challenged them andwhen they received no response, at our encouragement pushed through the intruders and queued behind us.
This behaviour gives expatriate residents a bad name. Where were the Ocean Park security guards when they were needed and have these tourists been advised by their tour group leaders to take advantage of resident Europeans? TOM and SARAH ARMSTRONG Ap Lei Chau
