Branson's airline worth a try
AS someone unconnected with any airline, I really don't understand why the South China Morning Post makes such a point of taking potshots at Virgin Airways. On March 29, you devoted a large chunk of the front page to describing delays on Virgin Airways' flights, before mentioning briefly, at the very end of the article, that both Cathay Pacific and British Airways have experienced similar problems. You also devoted your main cartoon (next to the editorials) to the story, enabling you to have another crack at Virgin.
Do you object to someone introducing a little more competition on the London/Hong Kong route? I think Richard Branson is one of those rare people who tries to provide what the client wants, as opposed to what the moguls think we should receive. My familytravelled on BA in December - business class no less - and I was disappointed to find that, out of eight channels available on personal video screens, not one was for children (quite a number of whom were travelling business class on that flight). I understand that Mr Branson provides personal videos and a children's channel even in economy class on his flights. I think he's worth a try.
