Inmate passes heroin packets

A 42-year-old man on a drug charge tried to smuggle a substance suspected of being heroin into Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre by swallowing plastic packets of it, the Correctional Services Department said. Acting on a tip-off, staff put the man in an isolation cell on Thursday and he passed eight packets yesterday.

Husband attacked with scissors

A 34-year-old woman was arrested for attacking her 38-year-old husband with a pair of scissors during a dispute at their home in Ki Lung Street, Sham Shui Po, at about 12.10am. The man was treated for minor shoulder injuries at Caritas Medical Centre.

Drink-driving arrest after crash

A 44-year-old man was arrested for drink-driving after he crashed his car into another vehicle and ran into a traffic-light pole and railings at the junction of Lok Ma Chau and Castle Peak roads, Lok Ma Chau, at about 3.30am. The two drivers were treated for minor injuries at North District Hospital.

Appeal over missing 71-year-old

Police appealed for information to help find 71-year-old Lam Sai-yin, who has not been seen since leaving his Choi Hung home on October 11. He was wearing a white T-shirt, black trousers and black shoes and carrying a black bag. Anyone with information can call 2703 2323 or 9020 2746.
