Stove catches fire in TST pub

Two employees suffered minor burns to their hands as an electric stove burst into flames in a pub in Tsim Sha Tsui early yesterday. The blaze broke out in the Austin Road pub at 4.10am. The two men, aged 21 and 22, tried to fight the fire but burned their hands before firemen arrived and doused the flames. An investigation found nothing suspicious, police said. The two men were given first aid at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

13 motorcycles damaged by arson

Thirteen motorcycles and one bicycle were damaged in an arson attack in Tung Chung, Lantau. Firemen were called in when the blaze broke out in a parking area in Yu Tung Road, at Yat Tung Estate, shortly after midnight. Firemen doused the flames and no one was injured. The fire was suspicious because of the unusual way it spread, firemen said. Detectives from Lantau North police station are investigating.

Drug arrests at shopping centre

Police arrested a man, 24, and his girlfriend, 19, on suspicion of drug possession at Tin Chak Shopping Centre, Tin Shui Road, Tin Shui Wai shortly after 12.20am. Officers seized about a gram of an illegal drug, believed to be ketamine, at the scene. Tin Shui Wai is in the Yuen Long district.

Four hurt in Wong Tai Sin collision

Four people, including a three-year-old boy, were injured in a collision between five cars and a motorcycle in Lung Cheung Road, Wong Tai Sin, shortly before 8am. The boy, two men and one woman were treated for minor injuries at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Yau Ma Tei.
