Kitchen synch

German electronics giant Siemens has come to the rescue of those who need a compact kitchen. Incorporating five built-in kitchen appliances which have innovative lightControl and impressive touchSlider technology, the Siemens built-in 5 series consists of combination steam oven, steamer, ovens, microwave, coffee centre, hoods and hobs.

Stack 'em up

Danish designer Verner Panton was the first in the world to create a form-moulded chair in plastics without any joints. His plastic Panton chair, a one-piece design made in candy-apple colours, has been in production continuously since 1967, and its sinuous shape became synonymous with 1960s pop culture. And this year it got even cooler with the launch of new colours - ice grey, mustard and tangerine. Available at Aluminium.

Get it light

Born from the desire to reinterpret and pay homage to the Coderch 1957 lamp design, the Rolanda is a gleaming open sphere which allows light to fill and spread from its core. Constructed of stainless-steel hoops over white opal glass, this funky adjustable light with a dimming switch was designed by Christophe Mathieu from Spain. Available at OVOstudio.

Here to serve

The intense summer heat is behind us so there's no better time to fire up the barbecue and indulge in some alfresco dining. And what better way to brighten up the dining experience than with a set of colourful retro-inspired plates such as these cool Melamine plates from Sentou. Available at Lane Crawford.
