A 74-YEAR-OLD man who stole $11,000 worth of herbal medicine was jailed for four months yesterday.

Tai Tong pleaded guilty in Western Court to stealing 27 packets of Chinese Caterpillar Fungus from Hing Fat Hong in Des Voeux Road West on April 6.

Last September Tai received a four-month jail term suspended for two years for a similar offence.

Magistrate Gus Andree-Wiltens yesterday sentenced Tai to three months to run concurrently with the four months sentence.

Donny Chiu, defending, said Tai stole the fungus to sell because his son's financial support was not enough.
