A second helipad has been added to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal's inner pier, as a company running an air link between the two cities positions itself to reap the opportunities that arise as Pear River Delta transport links grow.

Sky Shuttle - formerly known as Heli Express - is also refurbishing the lounge at the Macau Heliport, which it hopes to finish early next year.

The new helipad on the western side of the Hong Kong Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan will host the company's fleet of six Agusta Westland (AW) 139 helicopters.

'With the increased operational capacity available from the expansion of the Hong Kong heliport and following the successful transition to an all-new AW 139 helicopter fleet, the company is well positioned to capitalise on future opportunities for growth in cross-boundary helicopter traffic in the Pearl River Delta, as the market demand develops,' a company spokesman says.
