Let's learn to be more forgiving
We might get into fights with people. If we feel wronged by somebody, we might hate that person. we might want to get even.
No one can avoid conflict. Perhaps we really want to be at peace with others, but it is not always possible.
According to a recent survey, Hongkongers 'hated' less this year. The 'hatred index' had dropped. But the same survey showed the 'forgiveness index' had also dropped, meaning people had also been less forgiving.
In other words, people are learning to hate less, but are also less forgiving. I find this disappointing. I think we need to work on being forgiving.
Open your ears to the sounds of nature
When you open your ears and really listen, you can hear all kinds of sounds, such as the air conditioning and cars on the street.
But, sitting in front of my television, which is showing a Planet Earth episode, I can hear birds singing in the forest as rain drips on the leaves and the wind rustles in the bushes. Sounds like these make our troubles go away and help us feel at peace.
It's a tragedy the only time we get to hear the sounds of nature nowadays is from documentaries. We are surrounded by noise in the city, and we have forgotten what it is like to be in the outdoors.
If you have forgotten, try getting out of the city and opening your ears to the sounds of nature. It will do you good.

Exercise is the best diet there is
It is common to see girls at school barely touching their food during lunch time. Dieting has long been a fad, but I think a lot of girls go about it in the wrong way.
Many girls diet by eating bread, candy or chocolate chip cookies - snacks that lack nutrition.
When you watch them doing this day in day out, you wonder how they manage to survive. I couldn't.
I tried dieting like this once. I only ate granola bars instead of full meals for a week. By the end of the week, I was weak and tired. I felt like I was going to faint every time I had to walk up a flight of stairs.
But after experimenting through trial and error, I have finally found the best slimming method. It is nothing new. It is the same old slimming method people have been advocating since the dawn of time - exercise.
It is still a good idea to cut down on fat intake because too much fat is not good for the body.
But just cutting down on what you eat is not enough. You need to exercise to burn fat rather than simply avoiding carbohydrates.
If you do enough exercise, you can eat and still stay slim.
Eat properly, work out, and be healthy and slim at the same time.

Students should have a voice
Many students are bored at school and fed up with attending lessons. A Student Voice Forum is a good way to solve this problem. It provides a platform for students to express their opinions and feelings about topics of concern to them.
These forums are best held during lunchtime on the playground. Interested students can have lunch and exchange ideas.
A Student Voice Forum has been set up at my school for several months.
It helps students to develop independent and critical thinking skills, as well as presentation and organisational skills.
I think other schools should follow suit and hold forums.
