Copper wire worth HK$3.8 million was stolen from four cargo containers shipped from the Philippines and replaced with sand and stones, police said yesterday. The owner, who saw the containers loaded in Manila, was present when they were opened at a yard in Tsing Yi and sand spilled from them. Officers are investigating whether the wire was stolen before it arrived in the city.
