Police hunt hit-and-run driver

Police are looking for the driver of a black car after a hit-and-run accident in Tai Po early yesterday. His car was following two taxis in Yuen Shin Road when the accident happened at about 1.20am. The black car ran into the back of one of the taxis when they stopped at a red light outside Fu Shin Estate, shunting it into the other taxi. It then sped off before police arrived. The taxi drivers were treated for minor injuries at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital.

Four people, including an eight-month-old boy, were slightly injured when a double-decker bus and a truck collided on the San Tin Highway, Yuen Long, at about 12.10am. They were treated at Pok Oi Hospital. In a separate accident, a driver and four passengers were slightly injured when their car hit a hillside in Tai Po Road near Savanna Garden, Tai Po, at 3am. The driver said he had swerved to avoid a dog. The driver, 25, passed a breath test.

Man held for illegal bookmaking

Police arrested a man for illegal bookmaking after soccer betting slipsS totalling HK$180,000 were found on his computer during a raid on his Tsing Yi home at about 11am. Officers were acting on a tip-off when they raided the flat on Cheung Fat Estate.
