Allow hearsay in courts, commission says

The Law Reform Commission has proposed that courts be given the discretion to admit hearsay evidence when they are satisfied the evidence is necessary and reliable. Such evidence is currently prohibited in most cases. Hearsay evidence refers to a witness telling a court what another has told him.
