Mosse picks up two international rides
The suspension of visiting French jockey Christophe Lemaire in Japan earlier this week has paved the way for fellow countryman Gerald Mosse to pick up another two rides for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre in the Cathay Pacific International Races at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Lemaire was suspended for four meetings after causing interference during the World Super Jockey's Series at Hanshin Racecourse last weekend.
Mosse will now ride Daryakana in the Hong Kong Vase and Ashalanda in the Hong Kong Cup.
Mosse had been pencilled in to ride Mr Medici for trainer Peter Ho Leung in the Hong Kong Cup, but with the double booking, that engagement has now been taken by Frankie Dettori.
Mosse had great success with Royer-Dupre during the European flat season and rode unbeaten Daryakana to win the Group Two Prix de Royallieu (2,500m) at Longchamp.
'I won on Daryakana during Arc weekend and she is a very good filly,' Mosse said.
'She is only a three-year-old and is going to be competing against some classy older horses in the Vase. But she has a great turn of foot, and very big potential. I don't think we know yet how good she might be.'
Jockey Thierry Thulliez was the other beneficiary of Lemaire's ban and will take the ride on Gris De Gris for Royer-Dupre in the Hong Kong Mile. Mosse had already been booked to ride stablemate Sweet Hearth in the Mile.
