HK tourists and guide injured in bus crash near Shanghai
Fifteen Hong Kongers were injured, one seriously, when their bus was hit by a truck near Shanghai.
The bus carrying the party on a five-day eastern China package was hit at about 4pm on Tuesday near Tongxiang City, in northern Zhejiang province, after they had been sightseeing in the historic town of Wuzhen.
All those on the bus were injured, including the guide from Hong Kong who suffered brain injuries, Johnny So Tsz-yeung, assistant general manager of Sunflower Travel said.
The mainland driver was also badly injured, he said. Eleven of the tourists had returned to Hong Kong at about 6pm last night.
Some of them, included a woman who needed a wheelchair and others with facial wounds, were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital.
One member of a family of three on the tour had suffered a fracture and returned on a charter flight later last night.
