The Hong Kong Jockey Club is showcasing historic photos, video clips and horse-related exhibits at a major product expo at Victoria Park.
The club is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and has been holding exhibitions in various districts around the city in recent months.
The show runs until January 4 at the 44th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo. The club said its booth is designed to offer an educational experience for the whole family.
Featured is a special classroom with displays of a horse skeleton and equine bone specimens, which provide an interesting lesson in the anatomy of horses.
Meanwhile, an exhibition of old horseshoes takes visitors on a journey into Hong Kong's equine history.
In times past, the club's stables were on a slope on Shan Kwong Road and horses had to make a steep climb between there and Happy Valley. The shoes were specially designed to offer special protection to the horses' hooves.
