Mum sentenced for caning daughter

A mother must do 40 hours of community service after Kwun Tong Court found she caned her eight-year-old daughter for cheating on a test. Leung Chi-ling, 45, a cleaner, hit her daughter on October 28 with two 60cm-long canes after a tutorial centre employee told the mother she had cheated. A teacher alerted police the next day when bruises were found on the girl.
