Stewards have suspended jockey Gerald Mosse for two meetings on a charge of careless riding for his effort in the third race on the Casper Fownes-trained Super Goal Champ. Mosse will ride this Friday before beginning his suspension and will return to race riding on January 11. He pleaded guilty to the charge after his mount laid out and made solid contact with the John Moore-trained Century Knight in the run to the post. Apprentice Derek Leung Ka-chun was also fined HK$5,000 for dropping his whip in race four aboard Rare Treasure. It is the fourth time this season Leung has fumbled the persuader and chief steward Kim Kelly was less than impressed with his strike-rate and instructed Leung's master Paul O'Sullivan to help correct the problem. 'It is the fourth time he has dropped the whip this season, with only 30 meetings gone, so it is becoming a real problem,' Kelly said.
