Lawmakers pass a motion calling for better consumer protection. Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Rita Lau Ng Wai-lan said an amendment bill for the Trade Description Ordinance would soon be tabled, in a move that could outlaw high-pressure sales tactics and the acceptance of prepayment from customers without the ability to provide the promised services.
