Advice given on airport

THE Hong Kong office of British consultant Sir William and Halcrow Partners is advising on a US$25 million scheme to convert the former military airfield at Subic Bay naval base in the Philippines into a commercial airport.

Construction has to be completed by September, when US air cargo carrier Federal Express will begin operating wide-bodied freighter aircraft from Subic Bay.

Passenger services will also be operating by Philippine Airlines.
