A 52-year-old Hongkonger surnamed Chan was jailed for 10 months in Wuxi , Jiangsu province, for using fake credit cards to buy goods worth 14,000 yuan (HK$15,900). He went on a shopping spree in three malls in Suzhou and Nanjing in October, according to Xinhua. Chan told the court he was unemployed when a Malaysian friend made the cards and asked him to take part in the scam. Chan kept 15 per cent of the value of goods swindled.
