LAST night was the final equitrack meeting of the present season which is a pity for connections of Jarnac - but the way he went last night he might still pick up a race on the grass. Jarnac has had leg problems since he came to Hong kong and has won only one race - on the equitrack last season. He has moved to David Oughton and was having his first start in the sixth event for the stable and ran an excellent race for third behind Everwell Cheers and Diablo. Jarnac was the rank outsider in the field and appreciates longer than 1,400 metres.

With this under his belt - his first start since finishing last at his past start two months ago - he could be very close in a suitable race. It's worth remembering that there are equitrack races next season and Jarnac will be doing something in them. WinTack is also knocking on the door after his second placing to shock winner Rose Garden last night in the fifth event. Win Tack was handily beaten by the old timer but there was almost eight lengths back to the third horse - Solar Century - and on this formWin Tack will be picking up a Class Five race.
