As if there weren't enough venues already named after the horseracing gambling house, the Arts Centre's exhibition space - which extends from the ground floor lobby to the third floor - has been renamed the Hong Kong Jockey Club Atrium.

The facelift included the Arts Centre's exterior, entrance, lifts - and even its bathrooms.

As part of the transformation, the building's toilets, from basement to fifth floor, have been given an artistic touch.

Six local designers and teams - Anderson Lee, Derrick Tsang, Ida Sze and Billy Chan, Bernard Chang and Ben Lee, as well as Julia Lau, who was the initiator and designer of this Arty Privy Designer Toilet Series - have brought an artistic spirit to what is often an overlooked place of ... business.

'The Hong Kong Arts Centre will continue to promote the interaction between art and public,' said the centre's executive director, Connie Lam. 'Utilising our premises as a starting point we will bring art to the people, facilitating our collaboration with the local community in developing unique public art spaces.'

In short, the Arts Centre now offers inspiring places to sit and think. It's good to see all that hard work and creativity won't go down the toilet.
