The Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa Maldives ( is offering an idyllic 'Robinson Crusoe experience'. For US$325 per person, guests are dropped off by speedboat on a nearby uninhabited island. The castaways are free to explore the island at their leisure and bathe in the crystal-blue lagoon waters. Rather than surviving on berries and speared fish, they can enjoy a luxurious picnic hamper and a bottle of chilled champagne.
