Novelty Woods balls anger alleged mistress

An alleged mistress of American world number-one golfer Tiger Woods has claimed she is outraged by a new range of novelty golf balls featuring pictures of the heads of 12 of his supposed lovers.

Veronica Siwik-Daniels claimed the set of golf balls, called 'Tail of the Tiger: the Mistress Collection', was offensive and promoted violence towards women, Australia's Sydney Morning Herald reported.

'It is wrong for a golf ball to have my picture on it, because golfers hit their golf balls with a lot of force,' Siwik-Daniels, who used the name of Joslyn James during her adult film career, said. 'As a victim of violence myself, it bothered me to think someone would be standing with a dangerous club hitting a ball with my photo on it.'

Gloria Allred, Siwik-Daniels's lawyer, who represented another woman linked to Woods, Rachel Uchitel, called the golf balls 'dangerous and reprehensible', the New York Daily News reported. Allred said a 'cease and desist' letter had been sent to the product's Canadian manufacturer, Creative Classics. 'Hitting a woman or an image of a woman is not a sport; this would be no different than using a picture of a woman's face for target practice,' she said.

Mike Caldwell, of Creative Classics, said US$40,000 worth of the balls, at US44.95 a set, had been sold.
