Strong book of rides makes Prebble hard to beat

Brett Prebble will be out to make the most of his excellent book of rides at Sha Tin this afternoon, not only to claim Jockey Challenge as $1.85 favourite, but also to extend his lead in the season premiership over Douglas Whyte, who is out on suspension for the next two meetings.

Prebble has some strong chances, among them - headlined by the world's best sprinter Sacred Kingdom in the Group One Chairman's Sprint Prize (1,200m).

Sacred Kingdom will be hard to beat over his favourite distance, at which he has been victorious in seven of his 10 starts, with a race-fitness edge over main danger Happy Zero.

Debutant Hinyuen Paladin has bold claims in the first griffin race of the season, and can kick-start Prebble's afternoon with early points.

The Dennis Yip Chor-hong-trained youngster looked to be under a good hold in his barrier trial behind Surrounded and can be expected to improve under race conditions.

The Yip-trained stablemate Industrial Marvel also has strong claims back in grade on his preferred all-weather track in race four - the Diamond Handicap (1,200m).
