There's Loads Of Joy in the stable

Gerald Mosse was not trainer Francis Lui Kin-wai's favourite jockey when he found the early lead in the Diamond Handicap (1,200m), but when Loads Of Joy hit the winning post the trainer could not have been happier with the Frenchman. 'Our original plan was to sit behind the leaders, but the horse jumped away too fast and was left in front,' Lui said. 'I knew the horse would improve, he still looked a little keen in the run, but luckily Mosse has good hands and he was able to keep him comfortable in the lead and rate him well enough to win.' Loads Of Joy relished the switch to the dirt surface after previously trialling well on it and beat Well Noted, who was piloted by fellow Frenchman John Victoire, with Viva Guy finishing third. Victoire had another frustrating afternoon, riding five minor placings without striking it lucky for a win. Victoire's contract as a stable retained jockey for trainer Sean Woods will expire after the Sha Tin meeting next Sunday.
