Golf driving range takes tiger by the tail

A virtual golf driving range opened recently on the tenth floor of the Centrium building and the club hosted cocktails on Thursday in honour of the Year of the Tiger. Let's see: golf and tiger? Yes, the innuendos were flying at City Links as guests practised teeing off against a projection screen and tried out a special 'Tiger in the Woods cocktail' - gin with orange and peach juice, topped with a 'tiger tail' made from the peel of an orange wedge and touches of chocolate. Between rounds on the simulator, jokes about the world number one's infidelities and marital problems were par for the course.

'It is the Year of the Tiger, so we thought that we would do something creative, something different and something to play with the tiger concept,' said banker Anoop Chaudhry, who founded the hi-tech golf lounge with his brother Rajah and friend Philip Wixon in December. 'Obviously, part of the theme was inspired by the Tiger Woods saga too.'

Chaudhry said he is a binge golfer and a big fan of Woods as a golfer, as opposed to a player.

'I think he is undisputedly one of the best golfers in the world, I don't think anyone can question that.'
