World tour will bring Italian crooner to Hong Kong for one performance on May 4

Andrea Bocelli, the Pavarotti of the opera-pop crossover world, is returning to town for a concert engagement on May 4 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre's Hall 5B and C. The Italian tenor is embarking on an international tour, although there are only three Asian dates. The Hong Kong show will be sandwiched between a Tokyo show at the Budokan and one at Taipei's Arena. Most recently the singer participated in the Hope For Haiti Now telethon, performing a version of Bridge Over Troubled Water with R&B queen Mary J. Blige. Just this week Bocelli was also awarded a star of his own on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame (pictured with his wife Veronica Berti). Real opera aficionados must scoff, but you can't deny the man knows how to market to the masses.

There are a number of different prices for tickets to the Hong Kong show - HK$680, HK$980, HK$1,280, HK$1,980, HK$2,280 and HK$3,380. They go on sale on Monday at HK Ticketing and Tom Lee outlets.
