Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in the United States, are breathing new life into pixel art through a digital-display system called Flyfire. On YouTube (keyword: 'flyfire'), a video clip shows remotely controlled 'micro helicopters', designed with small light-emitting diodes, performing elaborate and synchronised choreography to create stunning three-dimensional images. Researchers say advances in battery technology and wireless control have made Flyfire possible.
