Crystal clear
KEF, the British speaker maker, has released the Picoforte 3 MCE Crystal Edition (above), which features egg-shaped speakers decorated with Swarovski crystals. The devices are fully compatible with Apple's latest iPhone and iPod devices, various MP3 players and personal computers. Delivering top-notch sound quality, the compact system includes a pair of bejewelled die-cast metal loudspeakers, the KEF Picoforte dock, an amplifier and a subwoofer, and sells for HK$8,380.
Moving pictures
The P800 (top right) is the first release from Samsung Electronics' premium line of digital photo frames. Its eight-inch, high-resolution light-emitting-diode display shows images with crystal clarity. More than 6,000 photographs can be stored in the device's two-gigabyte internal memory. Its auto-resize function optimises photos for the screen, so users are spared the hassle of adjusting images. Bluetooth 2.0 support allows users to easily transfer images from a camera or smartphone to the device. It can also be connected to any personal computer as a monitor via a USB. The P800 comes with a remote controller and costs HK$1,390.
One for the road
Sony's new XAV-70BT in-car multimedia AV centre (below) features a seven-inch touch-screen display with 800 by 480-pixel resolution, five times higher than most other in-car displays. It supports CD, DVD and VCD video playback and MP3, AAC and WMA audio files. It comes with a USB port, which allows the user to connect with most digital multimedia players, including Sony's Walkman. An integrated Bluetooth feature supports wireless music streaming from a smartphone. The XAV-70BT will be released this month and is priced at about HK$6,000.
