A Prime example of breaking barriers
SPORTS lovers who aren't too fluent in the Queen's English have some fabulous news coming up.
At last an alternative to local television's bilingual sports coverage can be found in Prime Sports' adaptation of multi-lingual telecasts, not that local TV ever has much live sport on anyway.
But the new system will mean your satellite dishes will have to be adjusted to a different frequency to pick up the desired soundtrack. Which is no great sacrifice for those who don't comprende English.
While they're at it, we should graciously ask the BBC for an intelligible soundtrack to our ol' mate Murray Walker's Formula One commentary too! But seriously, those armchair sports lovers who are rather flexible about their choice of sports viewing will be glad to know live coverage of this year's World Gymnastics Championships will be shown on Prime.
Five hundred athletes from more than 50 countries will take part in the six-day competition in Brisbane that gets underway tomorrow.
Prime's live coverage kicks off from Thursday at noon and will cover the remaining four days of events.
Rev-heads have got the high-speed, two-wheeled frolics of the Japanese Grand Prix coming up this weekend.

The Australasia Cup continues on Prime this week from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Today's match between the Kiwis and Sri Lanka at 1 pm will be the last before the next stage gets underway tomorrow with the big daddy being played on Friday.
Each of the matches will be shown daily at 1 pm and should be exciting stuff.
The Australian rugby league game of the week can be seen live on Australian TV this Saturday at noon.
As top live sporting events all seem to be appearing on networks not everybody has access to, On The Box will be seeking out watering holes showing these telecasts in the next few editions.
