July 1982 Deacon Chiu's family takes 50 per cent stake in RTV, later renamed ATV, and buys out broadcaster two years later
August 1987 Lim Por-yen's family and Cheng Yu-tung's New World Group each buy a third of ATV shares. Cheng becomes ATV chairman two years later
November 2002 Lim sells 32.75 per cent stake to Chan Wing-kee for HK$360 million.
April 2007 Payson Cha and brother Johnson Cha buy 10.8 per cent stake in ATV for HK$250 million
June 2007 Chan and tycoon Liu Changle set up firm that later buys most of ATV shares
December 2008 City Telecom chairman Ricky Wong Wai-kay becomes ATV chief executive. Former PCCW deputy chairman Linus Cheung Wing-lam becomes executive chairman. Wong resigns after two weeks. Cheung quits following year
