For her fix of bling, Shu Qi goes for the bright, clear - and easily replaceable

Diamonds may be a girl's best friend but Shu Qi is more likely to keep company with crystals. The actress was the special guest at Festival Walk where Swarovski was presenting a weekend display of its Out of the Blue collection. The marine-themed set includes fish, octopus and other ocean-oriented crystal pieces, while dancers pranced about dressed like Finding Nemo extras.

'I think the ocean is a secret world. It's a mystery,' the actress said. On the subject of bling: 'I do own some diamonds but they are in a safe. However, with crystals I can wear them anytime.' The self-confessed crystal fanatic also collects special edition Swarovski pieces. 'My phone is stuck full of crystals. Even at home, the light switch and the door monitor speaker all have crystal beads on them,' she added.

Her preference for a glass menagerie isn't just because they are collectible, but also because they are replaceable. 'I can be quite absent-minded. With my crystal rings and pendants, I have a track record of losing them when I put them down in hotels and bathrooms.'
