Hong Kong power to victory in Taiwan

Hong Kong celebrated their best performance in the seven-stage Tour de Taiwan yesterday, claiming overall victory and a king of the mountains category win for youngster Choi Ki-ho. 'It was a team effort through and through,' team captain Wong Kam-po said after the awards ceremony in Taipei. Racing in his first tour, 18-year-old Choi, promoted from the junior squad this year, proved his power against many quality riders on the mountains. David McCann of the Giant Asia Racing team won individual overall honours, finishing 14th in yesterday's 63km city circuit.
