Who's the sexiest man on the mainland today? Well, it turns out he is not even a film star or a model. Cheng Guorong (pictured left) has been sleeping in the streets of Ningbo, Zhejiang province since he was sacked from his last job. His dishevelled state has been compared by fans on the internet to that of Brad Pitt or Hong Kong comic star Stephen Chow Sing-chi and his fashion sense to that of Japanese male sex symbols and other models (far right).

Talent scouts have searched him out and mainland paparazzi just couldn't get by a day without following him around town. Fans speculate on his background, from being a former gang boss fallen on hard times to a social recluse who deliberately rejects materialism. Mature women and young girls have openly fantasied about his bedroom prowess. It appears everyone just projects his or her fantasy and desire onto the 34-year-old beggar, who has two children being taken care of by his family back in Jiangxi.

In one interview, he admitted his clothing style was not deliberate, but the result of spending long nights in public parks and finding whatever clothes he could. All the attention has scared him, and he has run off to his old village. His trick in sending away all the busybodies? He shaved and cut his hair. Now he just looks like a regular down-and-out villager. Poor man, poor China!
