Minister hints at bid for 2023 event

Hong Kong may have 12 years to prepare for hosting the Asian Games if it bids for the 2023 instead of 2019 event. Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing yesterday noted that both Games are open for bidding at the same time. He stopped short of saying if a bid would definitely go ahead, but said the city had gained experience in hosting major sports events since the failed bid to host the 2006 Games.
