Learn English from the heart
English is still one of the most common and popular languages in the world. Many people want to learn English, but not everybody knows the best way to learn. They say it is very difficult.
But I have some advice. First, figure out how you learn best. Do you like to read things and memorise them, or speak aloud, or write summaries? Or do you have a completely different method? And how do you study most effectively? Is it by yourself in a quiet room, or with a group?
Second, read English newspapers. They are an excellent place to find examples of native English.
Third, remember that English words have stresses. If you can learn where the stresses are in each new word you come across, you will sound more natural.
The most important thing is to want to learn, and to study from your heart.

Thank you for your letter, Tim-sing. While Mandarin and Arabic are becoming increasingly popular second languages all over the world, English is still the language of business, and the one most people learn. This makes it a key tool for global communication.
But it is not an easy language. English has all sorts of funny spellings and pronunciations. For example, the words 'though' and 'tough' only have a difference of only one letter, but they sound completely different. One of the most important things about learning English - or any new language - is not to be afraid to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, even in their own language. It is much better to dare to try out a new word or a new sentence, and let somebody correct your mistakes, than never to try at all.
And I think the other most important thing is to practise your English at every possible opportunity. Listen to songs in English, read Young Post, read novels in English, watch TV shows in English, find an English-speaking pen pal, talk to tourists - anything to practise.
The more you expose your ears, eyes and brain to English, the easier it will become.
