Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu Hsi-yuan has fond memories of working with her idol Andy Lau Tak-wah on the new sci-fi film Future X-Cop, but admits to being nervous about sharing their first on-screen kiss.

'Everyone in my family is a big fan of [Andy Lau]. I was uptight at the beginning. But after the first day of filming, I was fine because Andy is a really nice person,' said the 33-year-old, who visited Beijing and Shanghai this week to promote the film. 'When I called home after completing the filming, they chided me for not inviting them to visit while I was on the set.

Hsu plays a policewoman in a romantic relationship with Lau, a law enforcer from 2080 who travels back in time to protect a child destined to save the earth by developing advances in solar energy to replace oil. A trailer released in January attracted criticism for its sub-standard computer graphics, forcing director Wong Jing to rework it. Future X-Cop opens April 15.
