Extended library hours considered

Martin Wong

The government is to consider extending the opening hours of public libraries. Undersecretary for Home Affairs Florence Hui Hiu-fai said since April last year, 33 of the 66 libraries across the city were open seven days a week, for a total of 71 hours, while the rest were open during office hours only. A number of lawmakers have demanded the government extend the opening hours of all libraries so residents can use of them outside working hours.
