The week turned from bad to worse for apprentice Ben So Tik-hung after stewards added another four meetings to the term of suspension he already faces. On Thursday, So was put out for eight meetings for his flawed handling of Super Fortune up the straight last weekend, pleading guilty to a charge of failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best placing in the field. This time, it was a careless-riding charge, with the junior causing Daylight Express to check in the final stages of the fourth event. As he begins his eight-meeting penalty from today, the two terms of suspension will keep him out of race riding until May 27. Also in trouble was Zac Purton with a two-day suspension for careless riding and Brett Doyle was also in hot water, copping a HK$20,000 fine for dropping his hands and failing to ride Empire City out to the post in the second event.
